Chocolate Peanut Butter Five Layer

Life IS short...buy the shoes AND have the dessert!

I am regularly told I am a bad influence...usually in the food department. If you are on a diet you do not want to be my friend, family member, coworker, neighbor or acquaintance. I love delicious, rich desserts. My husband refers to a lot of my desserts, this one included, as cheek wigglers...aka super sweet! This dessert is inspired by my love of chocolate, peanut butter and desserts that do not need to look perfect. Bonus this one is super easy and doesn't require an oven...or any heat for that matter

This is perfect for a get together because who doesn't love chocolate and peanut butter. So let's get started.

Let's start with the Ingredients:

  • 25 peanut butter Oreos, divided

  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature

  • 3/4 cup peanut butter

  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar, divided

  • 16 ounces frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided

  • 20 miniature peanut butter cups, chopped

  • 1 1/8 cup whole milk, divided

  • 1 package (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate pudding mix

  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips

Now what? The instructions:

  • LAYER 1: Pulse 20 Oreos in food processor to a small crumb; add the butter and pulse until combined. Press into an ungreased 9 X 11 inch dish; set aside. TIP: I like to use these aluminum pans if I am taking this dish to a get together so I don't have to bring anything home. I also keep these on hand for make ahead freezer meals.

  • LAYER 2: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, peanut butter and 1 cup powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in half of the whipped topping. Spread gently over the crust crust.

  • LAYER 3: Cut 15 peanut butter cups in quarters. Sprinkle over cream cheese/peanut butter layer. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of chocolate chips.

  • LAYER 4: In another large bowl, whisk milk, pudding mix and 1/4 cup powdered sugar on for about 2 minutes until combined and starting to thicken. Let stand for 2 minutes and gently fold in 8 ounces of whipped topping. Spread over peanut butter cup layer.

  • Cover and chill for at least 3 hours.

  • LAYER 5: Chop 5 Oreos and 5 peanut butter cups; sprinkle over the top just before serving.
